The Holiday season is a time of joy and giving, and what Capcom will be giving us is a whole lot of zombie killing in the upcoming "Dead Rising 4." The latest title in the franchise, however, will not be bringing back the campaign co-op but, instead, will focus on the storytelling elements instead.
According to Dualshockers, a Twitch channel ExpertZone_Community revealed that Capcom won't be including campaign co-op in "Dead Rising 4," cutting off the common trend it had for the past three titles. Back then, the first three "Dead Rising" installments had the online co-op mode where players get to finish the story together.
However, all is not lost since the game producer David McAnerin explained that the reason for cutting out campaign co-op feature was meant to "focus on telling Frank's story," since his team was "excited to bring him back" into the "Dead Rising" series.
But, adding to that, the "Dead Rising" still wanted to put something similar to the co-op mode from the first three games. It's a separate mode taking cues from the "Infinity Mode" from the original game, where players need to cooperate to survive incoming zombie hordes for as long as they can and get involved with "crazy missions."
"Dead Rising 4" is set for launch for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC on Dec. 6, but being a timed exclusive would allow the PS4 and Steam versions to be released later on, according to Gamespot. The game also has DLCs to be offered, like an 18-hole minigolf game with a twist that allows up to three players join online.
