Rumor has it that Siwan will not resign with Star Empire once his contract with the agency expires in December.
However, Star Empire has released a statement to address the rumors, revealing both parties are still in discussions about Siwan. "It's true that his contract will expire in December. But he's not in the FA market right now. It's too early to say. We're still talking about renewing his contract," Star Empire said as per Allkpop.
Siwan made his debut under Star Empire. The singer-actor was recruited by the agency as trainee before he joined Children of Empire in 2009. The following year, the group changed their name to ZE:A and released their first EP titled "Nativity."
Aside from performing with the boy group, Siwan has also started acting in 2012 on "Moon Embracing the Sun," where he played as the young version of Heo Yeom. In the same year, the ZE:A member joined drama series "Man from the Equator." It was followed by "Standby" and "Waiting for Love."
Siwan's acting career continued until the following year after he was casted for "The Attorney," taking the role of a student activist. He even won the Best New Actor award for the film during the Max Movie Awards and the Marie Claire Film Festival.
Aside from that, he was garnered several nods from different awarding events for his role on "The Attorney." Siwan was even listed by Soompi as one among 13 of the most successful K-Pop idol actors alongside Lee Joon, Seo In Guk and more.
The news agency wrote Siwan had his breakthrough on "The Attorney" and "Incomplete Life" released in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
