NBA News: Kevin Love, Kevin Durant named Best Players of the Week

Kevin Love of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors’ Kevin Durant have been named Best Players of the Week for the game played between Nov. 21 through Sunday, Nov. 27.

Love helped the Cavaliers to make 3-0 last week as reported by USA Today. He is the lead scorer in the East with average 30.7 points and his remarkable achievement was made on Wednesday to make 40 points in a 137-125 victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. During that game, he made 34 points in the first quarter.

He made 19 of his 29 three-point attempts, tallied a 65.5 percent accuracy and he made all 21 of his free-throw attempts. Love also averaged 9.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 1.3 steals.

Meawnhile Durant’s contribution brought the Warriors to a 4-0 week, averaging 24.8 points, 8.3 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 2.75 according to NBA.com. He also made a high three-point accuracy with 50.0 percent, connected 9-of-18 attempts from behind the curve.

Both teams, Golden State Warriors and Cleveland Cavaliers are the leader in their respective Conferences. The Warriors currently have a 13 winning streak after the 105-100 victory over Atlanta Hawks this Monday and Durant leads the scoring and rebounding with 25 points and 14 rebounds.

In his first season with the Warriors Durant has fitted in well with the entire team. Averaging 27.2 points and 8.1 rebounds, he plays 34.3 minutes in average. The Warriors now have a 16-2 records.

Meanwhile Cleveland Cavaliers are now 13-2 after winning their fourth consecutive game on Sunday. They defeated the Philadelphia 76ers with 112-108 and Love contributed 25 points and 11 rebounds.

Overall, Love averages 22.3 points and 10.7 rebounds in his 31.7 minutes of playing time. This season his record is slightly better than the last season, which he averaged 16.0 points and 9.9 rebounds within his 31.5 minutes.
