Preview

Memphis is reeling at the moment as the team lost two of its last three games. They are currently fourth in the Western Conference standings, tied with the Houston Rockets, five games behind West leaders Golden State Warriors.

Their last match ended in a disappointing 104-85 blowout to the Charlotte Hornets at their home court of FedEx Forum on Tuesday night, as per SB Nation.

However, what is worse about the defeat is the Grizzlies lost starting point guard and team leader Mike Conley to a back injury.

Conley, who had 14 points and five assists in the game, was taken out of the court in the 8:25 mark of the final period after taking a charge from Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. He was diagnosed with transverse fractures in the vertebrae in his lower back and was ruled out for six to eight weeks.

Marc Gasol led the Grizzlies with 19 points and eight rebounds in a losing effort while sophomore power forward Jarell Martin came off the bench to contribute 11 points and 12 boards.

Meanwhile, the Raptors are currently on a three-game winning streak to bounce back from a two-game losing slide. They are second to the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference standings, two-and-a-half games behind.

Toronto routed the Philadelphia 76ers, 122-95, at the Air Canada Centre last Monday, the Toronto Star reported.

Kyle Lowry filled-in offensively for the struggling DeMar DeRozan as he led the team with 24 points, four rebounds, and eight assists shooting 7-for-9 from the field. DeRozan had an off-night with only 14 points on 4-for-13 field goal shooting.

Terrence Ross had an impressive performance as a substitute, netting 22 points on 8-for-11 shooting.

Prediction

Memphis is 6-3 on the road so far this season while Toronto is 5-3 at home. The Grizzlies are undermanned without Conley while DeRozan is expected to bounce back from his lackluster effort against the Sixers. A convincing win for the Raptors is predicted.
