Preview

Orlando is on a downward spiral as of late with four straight losses, dropping them to the fourth from the last place in the Eastern Conference standings. The team is eight games behind current East leaders Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Magic was defeated by the Milwaukee Bucks last Sunday at their own home court of Amway Center in a night when head coach Frank Vogel made three changes in the team's starting lineup, as per the Orlando Sentinel.

DJ Augustin, Bismack Biyombo, and Aaron Gordon started in place of Elfrid Payton, Nikola Vucevic, and Jeff Green in Vogel's "attempt to enliven the team's offense", but the experiment "did more overall harm than good" as the new starting five had leaks in defense.

Orlando's starters allowed the Bucks to score 36 points in the first quarter to get behind early in the match before Vogel started making adjustments.

Evan Fournier top-scored for the Magic with 27 points while Serge Ibaka and Augustin also scored in double figures for the starters with 19 and 11 points.

Off the bench, regular starters Vucevic and Payton showed why they deserve to be in the opening lineup by scoring 17 and 16 points respectively. Vucevic also had 16 rebounds, three assists, and one block in a statement performance while Payton chipped in three boards, three assists, and one steal.

Meanwhile, the Spurs extended their winning run to nine games after a 112-100 victory over the Washington Wizards on Saturday night at the Verizon Center, USA Today reported.

LaMarcus Aldridge led head coach Gregg Popovich's squad with 24 points and seven rebounds while Tony Parker had 20 points and three assists. Kawhi Leonard was the third starter who scored in double digits with 19 points. He also had five assists and three steals.

Pau Gasol had eight points and 10 boards as the starting center. Jonathon Simmons and Patty Mills fired 15 and 13 points off the bench for the Spurs during the match.

Prediction

Orlando is 2-5 in away games this season while San Antonio has also struggled at home with a 4-3 record. With the Magic's current struggles, the Spurs are favored to win this one on Tuesday.
