What certainly began as a rumor grew into something that is solid as we get more and more news about Lucasfilm's upcoming "Han Solo" film. Starring "Hail, Caesar!" actor Alden Ehrenreich, recent reports suggests that the film will begin shooting this coming January.

According to these early reports, screenwriter Lawrence Kasdan - who was known for his works on "The Empire Strikes Back," "Star Wars: Return of the Jedi," "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," "Raiders of the Lost Ark," and "The Bodyguard" - was actually who recently revealed that production will begin on January. Kasdan was caught up by those interviewed him on the matter after he was presented with the AJFF Icon Award for Contributions to the Cinematic Arts at the Woodruff Arts Center's Rich Auditorium earlier this year.

Not much has been revealed about the plot, but the screenwriter did say that directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller has already been planning to bring the filming crew to London to start filming.

"You know, Chris Miller and Phil Lord are going to direct it," said Kasdan. "They're great, funny and imaginative and we've had a great time together. My son [Jon] and I wrote the script and Chris and Phil are working on it and they're about to move to London to start shooting in January. And it should be fun."

A recent report also revealed the movie's direction having the "heist or Western type feel," according to chief of Lucasfilm Kathleen Kennedy. She added: "We've talked about Frederic Remington and those primary colors that are used in his paintings defining the look and feel of the film."

Lucasfilm also quietly signed in Ehrenreich for "at least three movies," hinting at possibilities of a spin-off trilogy in the "Star Wars" franchise. Although it's not clear whether the rest of the movies will focus solely on Enhrenreich's depiction of young Han Solo or will have him merely appear as a cameo or supporting character in those films.

Other than Ehrenreich as the young Han Solo, "Community" actor and DJ Donald Glover will be taking the mantle of Lando Calrissian, while "Game of Thrones" actress Emilia Clarke will also be appearing in the film, whose role has yet to be revealed.
