Russel Westbrook is definitely the triple-double machine. He posted his six straight triple-double in the game against Atlanta Hawks and on the longest streak of triple-double since Michael Jordan.

Westbrook posted 32 points, 13 rebounds and 12 assists on Monday night Nov. 5 in a 102-99 victory over Atlanta Hawks at the Philips Arena. According to NBA.com, he has posted 15 points and 11 rebounds as he made 10th assists in the third quarter. His continuous triple double brought Oklahoma City Thunder to 14-8 records.

Westbrook is going to equate Jordan’s record in 1989 with seven triple-double if Thunder is able to defeat Houston Rockets on Friday, Nov. 9. Actually, his triple-double is more than the record holder Wilt Chamberlain, if the Oklahoma City Thunder losing games were also counted. Westbrook has continously posted triple-doube since Nov. 18 in the game against Brooklyn Nets.

Based on the Elias Sports Bureau reseach, Westbrook is listed as one of four players who posted six consecutive triple-doubles. The other players were Chamberlain with nine in the 1967-68 season, Oscar Robertson in 1960-61 season and Michael Jordan in 1988-1989 with seven straight triple doubles.

What more amazing is that he will be the second player in the history of NBA who average triple double after Oscar Robertson in 1961-62. Westbrook currently averages 31 points, 11.3 assists, 10.8 rebounds. His level of play has given trouble to opposing team, and according to USA Today, he is impossible to stop.

Normally, there are some game plays to confine player to score and play a great game. Some options are limiting the player to get the ball, and forced him to make a jump shot. However this options are futile to Westbrook.

His jump shot has a 37.4 percent accuracy and even more on his pull-up jump shots with 43.4 percent. While limiting his access to the ball is also impractical as he has 8.5 defensive rebounds in average, and he is the only guard in the top ten list of the defensive rebounder in the NBA.
