The premiere for "Star Wars: Rogue One" has created big road closures on Hollywood Boulevard where an X-Wing was spotted. Stars of the film will gather within the area in a few days.
The closure stretches all the way from Highland to Vine days, The Wrap reported. For the uninitiated, an X-Wing is a fighter jet flown by many Rebel pilots. Given the massive area of closure, fans speculate that the X-Wing might only be the beginning, The Wrap reported.
Elsewhere, Lucasfilm has confirmed that the movie will be released in China with the unveiling of a new Chinese trailer. The film will come to China on Jan. 6, 2017 shortly after it debuts in the US on December 16. The approach is similar to what was done in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."
Directed by Gareth Edwards ("Godzilla"), the trailer gives a preview of some spectacular sights and action sequences. Coincidentally, it features Chinese stars Donnie Yen and Jiang Wen.
China is the second largest film market in the world and the "Star Wars" franchise is reportedly not so popular there. To address this, Disney launched posters of Yen and Wen who were booked in respective supporting roles. Yen plays the role of a blind warrior named Chirrut Imwe while Wen stars as a badass freelance assassin Baze Malbus, The Hollywood Reporter reported.
Earlier this week, a new video introducing the titular character Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) was released. This was followed by another video showcasing Stormtroopers and Darth Vader.
While "Rogue One" is probably another box-office shoo-in. Critical reviews for the film will probably be telling on how the franchise will move forward after its release. For reference, fans may find solace because "Star Wars" creator George Lucas gave thumbs up for the film.
