Rose was out in the game against the Heat due to the back spasm. He has missed two games already, but fortunately he will be able to play in the important game against the Lakers this Sunday.
The MRI result of his back showed no structural damage, CBS Sports reported. He left the game on Tuesday, Dec. 6 against Miami Heat because of back spasms. He has already missed two games against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday and Sacramento Kings on Friday.
His rehabilitation has shown progress, and according to New York Daily News, Rose will probably be able to play this Sunday night against the Lakers. Rose said that he is ready to play, but coach Jeff Hornacek prefer to take more careful approach.
"He's getting all the treatments, getting all the massages, so it's just a matter of loosening it up," Hornacek said last Friday. He also said that Rose is able to practice torqueing and his move, but emphasized him to not overdo and aggravate his rehabilitation process.
Rose was prone to injury since his fourth season following his brilliant career. He injured his ACL in the 2012 playoffs against the Philadelphia 76ers which made him to miss the game for 12 months. Afterward, Rose often injured and he was unable to deliver his best performance throughout his entire career with Chicago Bulls.
After he was traded to New York Knicks, he played well and began to re-discover his best performance. Therefore, his back spasms last week drew a lot of concern from coach and Knicks management. They tried to keep him regain his full strength and health before return to court.
Coach Hornacek stayed vigilant to not push him to play quickly. He understands Rose’s tendency to play a high-pace game, which may hurt him more. Therefore, Hornacek calm his eagerness to play by reminding Rose to focus on the full rehabilitation.
