The newest entry (and possibly the last as well) of "The Fast and The Furious" series has released a new trailer along with a new change to the film's title.
According to the latest report by IGN, the film that was previously previously referred to as "Fast 8," "Furious 8" and "F8" on social media, has now been called "The Fate of the Furious." Here's the trailer that showed the title's reveal:
The teaser features multiple locations from around the world that was never before seen on the film's release. Here, we get to see a street race in Cuba and a chase scene in Iceland.
Just for the sake of recap of how the title style of "The Fast and The Furious" has changed throughout the main series, here are all the entries of the entire series (so far):
The trailer has already been broadcast during a live event last Sunday, Dec. 11 at 4:40 p.m. PT / 7:40 p.m. ET.
Directing the film is newcomer F. Gary Gray and writing the script is "Fast and Furious" writer Chris Morgan, according to CinemaBlend. The film picks up after "Fast and Furious 7" (referred to in the film as "Furious 7"), where Dom (Vin Diesel) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez), along with the other crewmembers decided to live a peaceful life. However, this would unfortunately take a turn for the worse when a mysterious woman (Charlize Theron) finds to Dom and tempts him into doing work for her through crime - and to turn on his family.
Other settings worth noting are New York City, Berlin, Russia, and Cuba. In addition to Diesel, Rodriguez and Theron, other cast members of the film include Dwayne Johnson, Jason Statham, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris "Ludacris" Bridges, Nathalie Emmanuel, Elsa Pataky and Kurt Russell. Helen Mirren is said to make an appearance, but it's still unclear what role she'll be taking or how much screen time she'll be taking.
"The Fate Of The Furious" will drive its way to theaters on Apr. 14, 2017.
