"The New Normal" actor Justin Bartha is added to the cast in CBS' "Good Wife" spinoff "The Good Fight." He will be a series regular and love interest of Lucca (Cush Jumbo).
According to Variety, Bartha will play Colin, a rising star in the state attorney's office and Chicago's most eligible bachelor. Romantic sparks fly when he finds himself going up against Lucca in the courtroom.
"The Good Fight" is a spinoff from CBS drama "The Good Wife" and is the latest series from CBS Television Studios. It will be the first original scripted series exclusive to the service. As previously reported, it picks up one year after the events of last May's finale, TV Line reported.
In "The Good Fight," Bartha joins the ensemble that already includes "Good Wife" newbies Delroy Lindo from "Chicago Code," Paul Guilfoyle from "CSI," Bernadette Peters from "Smash," Erica Tazel from "Justified," as well as "Good Wife" vets Christine Baranski (Diane) and Sarah Steele (Marissa). Additionally, Gary Cole will reprise his role as Diane's hubby Kurt McVeigh on a recurring basis, and Zach Grenier (David) and Jerry Adler (Howard) will guest star in the premiere.
In the plot of "The Good Fight," an enormous financial scam has destroyed the reputation of Diane's goddaughter Maia ("Game Of Thrones" actress Rose Leslie) simultaneously wiping out Diane's savings. Forced out of Lockhart & Lee, Diane and Marissa join Lucca at one of Chicago's pre-eminent law firms.
Bartha was most recently a series regular on Fox's "Cooper Barrett's Guide to Surviving Life." His other credits include NBC's "The New Normal" and "The Hangover," as well as "National Treasure" feature films. He is repped by CAA.
"The Good Fight" will premiere on the CBS broadcast network in February, with subsequent new episodes available on streaming service CBS All Access. It continues to staff up ahead of its launch.
