"Back to the Future" funnyman Christopher Lloyd made his guest star debut in an episode in "The Big Bang Theory." The CBS comedy is going Back to the Future.
According to TV Line, CBS' "The Big Bang Theory" has tapped Lloyd to guest star in the Thursday, Dec. 1, episode. Details on who he is playing are being kept under wraps. However, Lloyd's character name is Theodore, who is an elderly man Sheldon (Jim Parsons) apparently met on the streets.
In the plot of "The Big Bang Theory," Sheldon and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) argue over who will get custody of their shared belongings, Comic Book reported. Sheldon decided to escalate things by renting out his bedroom to Theodore. He had rights to the room through the end of the month, so he decided to get back at Leonard by leasing it out to a complete stranger for just a dollar a day.
Theodore did help to resolve things between Sheldon and Leonard even if he was a bit strange in "The Big Bang Theory." After Leonard confronting Sheldon for taking things too far, he pointed out that Sheldon might be lashing out because he was upset that he was moving away from Leonard. Sheldon and Leonard admitted that they missed each other and quickly patched things up.
Although their fight was over, Theodore stuck around long enough at the end of the episode in "The Big Bang Theory." He offered interior design suggestions as to where Penny should put a hideous painting of herself and Amy.
Sadly, it appears that Theodore will not be sticking around the apartment in "The Big Bang Theory." There are reports suggesting that Lloyd only signed up to make an appearance on one episode.
Lloyd's small-screen credits include appearances on everything from 1984's "Cheers" to 2010's "Chuck." He is also seen in his 1978-1983 stint as Reverand Jim Ignatowski in "Taxi." He will next have an upcoming visit to Syfy's "12 Monkeys" Season 3.
"The Big Bang Theory" airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
