Preview

Oklahoma City has won seven of their last eight games to stay in the sixth spot in the Western Conference standings, five-and-a-half games behind West leaders Golden State Warriors.

The Thunder turned back a tough challenge from the Boston Celtics to win, 99-96, in their home court of Chesapeake Energy Arena last Sunday, SB Nation reported.

Russell Westbrook's triple-double run came to an end at seven games as he came four assists short of having his eight straight. His feat tied Michael Jordan's seven consecutive triple-double games back in 1989.

Westbrook had 37 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, and two steals to lead head coach Billy Donovan's squad.

Steven Adams had 16 points, eight boards, and two assists while Enes Kanter chipped in 14 points and six rebounds coming off the bench.

"Honestly, I'm just happy we won tonight," said Westbrook when asked about how he felt that the streak ended. "That's the most important thing. As a player, I always try to look forward. Maybe at the end of the season, I can talk about it, but as of right now, my job is to move forward and get ready for Portland."

Meanwhile, the Blazers dropped its fourth consecutive game as the team suffered a sorry 121-120 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples on Monday night, as per Oregon Live.

CJ McCollum had 25 points, five rebounds, and three assists while Damian Lillard had 24 points, five, boards, and eight assists. Mason Plumlee contributed 18 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and five shot blocks in a losing effort.

Al-Farouq Aminu netted 10 points as four Portland starters scored in double figures. Off the bench, Evan Turner and Allen Crabbe fired 15 and 13 points respectively.

Prediction

OKC is 5-4 on away games so far this season while Portland is 7-4 at home. It will again be a tight contest for both squads, but the Thunder will prevail with the help of Westbrook.
