Former WINNER member Nam Tae Hyun was recently spotted DJing at a South Korean club. A fan spotted the former idol group member at Club Circle in Seoul.
According to Koreaboo, Nam Tae Hyun has been active on social media ever since he left WINNER and YG Entertainment in November this year. Although he was primarily known for singing ballads and slow-tempo tunes while he was part of WINNER, it appears that Nam Tae Hyun is now experimenting with electronic music. On his official Soundcloud page, he has been posting deep house music.
On Nov. 25, YG Entertainment announced that Nam Tae Hyun will be leaving WINNER and YG Entertainment. Prior to his departure, the singer went on a temporary hiatus to seek treatment for his mental health condition.
"After lengthy discussions with Nam Tae Hyun it was judged that it would be difficult for him to continue activities through WINNER," a source from the agency said, as quoted by Soompi. It was revealed that his exclusive contract was terminated on Nov. 18.
"The remaining members made his health and recovery the priority and hoped for improvement, but it's difficult to say when he will recover and return because it's a psychological issue he has dealt with since he was young," the source added.
Even though Nam Tae Hyun is no longer part of YG Entertainment, the agency still expressed its support for the artist's future music endeavors.
Nam Tae Hyun debuted with WINNER in 2013. They were active ever since until they went on hiatus in 2015. Following Nam's exit, WINNER will not add a new member to the group and will remain a four-member band.
WINNER is currently preparing to release a new album early next year. The exact release has not been confirmed yet, but it will most likely take place after Akdong Musician's comeback on Jan. 3.
