NBA News: New York Knicks have problem with injury; Carmelo Anthony is back while Derrick Rose is under examination

New York Knicks is troubled with injury of their two stars, Carmelo Anthony and Derrick Rose. Anthony has been able to return to court, while doctors are stil examining Rose for his recurring back spasm.

Anthony can return to court in a Saturday night game against his old club Denver Nuggets at Pepsi Center, Denver as reported by ESPN. The Nuggets defeated Knicks 127-114 as the home team dominated the visiting Knicks.

Anthony led the Knicks in scoring with 29 points, followed by Kristaps Porzingis who scored 22 points. But Denver Nuggets dominated the rebounds, distributing the assignment to Nikolai Jokic, Emmanuel Mudiay, Will Barton and Kenneth Faried. While New York Knicks only relied on their center Porzingis who only acquired 7 rebounds, who was backed by Willy Hernangomez with 10 rebounds.

Knicks is troubled with injury of their two of their three highest scorers. Rose has already missed two games, as he didn’t play in the 90-103 defeat against Golden State Warriors on Thursday, which Anthony missed that game as well.

The news about Anthony and Rose’s injury was first noticed and reported by FOX Sports on Thursday. Anthony was noticed to shoot only 34.9 percent from past ten games, while he is normally averaged above 43 percent.

Upon examination doctors found soreness in his right shoulder. He had to rest for one game in Thursday to allow his shoulder recover. Afterward, he returned on Saturday in a “must win game” against the Knicks, but despite his best effort the Knicks had another defeat.

While Rose’s back spasm started in the Dec. 6 during the game against the Heat and missing two games. Although the MRI showed no structural damage, but the spasm has become recurring problem after he scored 25 points in the game against the Lakers on Sunday, Dec. 11. He will need to have more examination for his back.
