Akdong Musician’s Chanhyuk plans to enter military next year

20-year-old Chanhyuk of Akdong Musician revealed his plan to enlist next year in a recent interview.

According to Allkpop, Chanhyuk even said that he is not worried about taking a hiatus to serve the mandatory military enlistment. "By my standards, I think it's actually late to be worrying about the military enlistment.  I am thinking of entering the military next year at the latest," he said.

The Akdong Musician artist even shared that five of his friends are currently serving or have already completed their military duties right now. Chanhyuk added that hearing about enlistment has become so normal that it does not affect him that much.

Amid popularity of Akdong Musician, Chanhyuk was asked about having to bring their promotions at halt while he is serving his military duties. "If the fans love our songs, they will wait for our music," he said.

Chanhyuk added, "Of course, they could forget about us, but if they have memories with Akdong Musician, I believe they will wait for us.  I do not think that the hiatus will be that long."

On the other hand, Suhyun said she will continue her promotional activities for the duo while her brother is serving the country.

Akdong Musician just released their newest album titled "Winter" on Jan. 3. Soompi reported the new album has two title tracks with one of them called "Last Goodbye." After a few hours of its release, the title track reportedly dominated several music charts including Genie, Olleh, Naver Music, Mnet and more.

On top of that, "Last Goodbye" also charted on iTunes in several countries like Panama, Indonesia, Vietnam as well as in Hong Kong, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan.

"Last Goodbye" was personally written by Chanhyuk. The acoustic song is said to be perfect for those who wish to go back to their past relationship.
