"Avengers: Age of Ultron" actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson may reportedly reprise his role as Quicksilver in MCU's "Avengers: Infinity War."
According to some rumors, Taylor-Johnson's Pietro Maximoff may be back in the fold sometime in Phase 3 or Phase 4 of the MCU. This may be in form of flashbacks, visions, time travel and even resurrection.
Some theories suggest that the last remaining Infinity Stone to be uncovered in the MCU, The Soul Stone, has the ability to manipulate souls of both the living and the dead by trapping them in an afterlife-esque alternate dimension. When combined with the rest of the Infinity Stones in the Infinity Gauntlet, the stone could reportedly bring the dead back to life across the universe, Screen Rant reported.
In an interview, Taylor-Johnson said that he is up for reprising the heroic character is given the chance. However, he clarified that he does not know of any plan that will bring back Quicksilver to the MCU.
"I don't have any knowledge I could share with you if did," he said.
Elsewhere, Marvel boss Kevin Feige confirmed that the character actually died "Avengers: Age of Ultron." This is in response to talks that the character could still be alive like Clark Gregg's Agent Phil Coulson who was revived in "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D," Cinema Blend reported.
"Quiksilver is DEAD. 100%, he's not coming back any time soon, there are no plans," he said.
Director Joss Whedon defended the decision to kill of the character by saying that his death added weight to the story. He said that if the team continued their duties unscathed, the heroic theme of the film may not resonate with the audience. He opined that having no casualties would be disingenuous to the narrative.
