Washington is on a roll right now with a three-game winning run. The team has also won six of their last seven matches to climb up to the fifth spot in the Eastern Conference standings, tied with the Indiana Pacers.
The Wizards turned back a tough challenge from the Memphis Grizzlies, 104-101, on Wednesday night at their home court of Verizon Center to keep their winning streak alive, as per SB Nation.
John Wall led the squad with a double-double of 25 points and 13 assists plus two rebounds and two steals. Otto Porter Jr. backed him up also with 25 points along with seven boards and one steal.
Markieff Morris contributed a double-double as well with 17 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists while Bradley Beal had an off-night, producing only 12 points, one board, and four assists, shooting 4-for-14 from the field and 1-for-7 from three-point range.
The Wizards' big first half allowed them to hold off the Grizzlies run in the second as Washington led 66-51 at the break.
Meanwhile, the Knicks are still playing inconsistently in their last few games with two wins and two losses. The team is currently settled in the 11th spot in the East, two games behind eighth-seeded squad Chicago Bulls.
In their most recent match last Wednesday, New York pulled off an inspiring 117-106 victory over third-running team Boston Celtics on the road at the TD Garden, ESPN reported.
Derrick Rose fired 30 points on 13-for-24 shooting, grabbed 10 rebounds, and dished off five assists with two steals and two blocks to lead head coach Jeff Hornacek's squad to the much-needed win.
Mindaugas Kuzminskas added 17 points, six boards, and two assists while Carmelo Anthony had 13 points, four rebounds, and three assists.
Three bench players scored in double figures, namely Willy Hernangomez, who also grabbed 11 boards, Justin Holiday, and Brandon Jennings with 17, 13, and 11 points respectively.
New York is still without starters Kristaps Porzingis and Joakim Noah who are both currently sidelined by separate injuries.
Prediction
The Wizards are a poor road team with a 4-13 slate this season while the Knicks are decent at home with a 12-9 record. However, a close win for the streaking Wizards is predicted.
