Karen Gillan reprises her role as Nebula for the upcoming "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." But unlike the first film, Gillan offers some minor previews about her character developer for the sequel.
Exploring the Past
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" brings back many known characters in the first film including Gamora's sister, Nebula played by Karen Gillan. But according to Gillan's recent interview with The Wrap, her character in the sequel will be a little different compared to the first film.
Nebula was a force to reckon with along with Ronan the Accuser. She also resented her sister Gamora so much that she cut her arm off instead of taking of chance in patching things up.
But it seems that Nebula will develop a bit in the sequel according to the Scottish actress. Nebula's past will be revealed especially her relationship with her sister and Thanos. She could become relatable to the audience through sympathy.
Even better, Gillan also revealed that her character will actually end up with the heroes. If she works with the heroes for the sequel, she could be another problem for Thanos because Saldana (the actress who plays Gamora) revealed through Digital Spy that Nebula is "even more bitter and resentful."
New Look for the Sequel
Aside from the changing sides, Gillan also revealed that she will go with a different look for "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." The actress completely shaved her head in the first film but she'll have some hair in the sequel. But she'll still have a half shaven head with most of the bottom removed.
Nebula's changing sides is not the only new storyline for the sequel. The film will also focus on the gang's quest to learn more about Star Lord's father - confirmed to be portrayed by Kurt Russell.
"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" lands in US theaters on May 5, 2017.
