A new villain is headed to National City on "Supergirl" Season 2.
According to Variety, "Desperate Housewives" alumna Teri Hatcher has been cast as the show's upcoming Big Bad. As to whether her new role will be based on a popular DC comic book character is yet to be known. But the site is reporting that she will appear in multi-episodes for the rest of the season, which will air this winter.
Hatcher's villainous role on Supergirl is not her first gig on the DCEU. She formerly played Superman's love interest, Lois Lane, on "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman."
"No offense to any of the wonderful actresses who have also played the part, but Teri Hatcher is my all time favorite Lois Lane. To have her come back to the SuperWorld in a completely different part is an unbelievable gift to me, Greg, and the fans," said executive producer Andrew Kreisberg in a statement.
Hatcher's other TV credits include "The Odd Couple," "Jane By Design" and "Smallville." She joins previously cast Darren Criss on Supergirl Season 2 as the musical crossover villain, Music Meister.
Recently, a special Valentine's Day-themed episode has been reported to happen later this season on "Supergirl." According to Entertainment Weekly, new couple Alex and Maggie will celebrate the special occasion on the show's Feb. 13th episode.
"Alex is super excited for her first Valentine's Day with a girlfriend, but Maggie is not keen on the Hallmark holiday, which leads to their first real fight. But Maggie will make it up to Alex by recreating a special night," teased the site.
Based on the characters from the DC comics, "Supergirl" hails from Arrowverse boss Greg Berlanti. It stars Melissa Benoist, Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Jeremy Jordan, Mehcad Brooks and Floriana Lima.
An all new episode of "Supergirl" titled "The Martian Chronicles" airs on Feb. 6th on the CW.
