According to a report from Entertainment Weekly, "The Leftovers" actress Amanda Warren has been tapped to play the role in an upcoming episode of the Golden Globe-nominated series. Her character, Dorothy, will be introduced via flashbacks with a young William, reports the site. Additionally, the episode will also feature a guest appearance of Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta) as William's cousin.

In addition to introducing Dorothy, "This Is Us" will also heavily focus on William's battle with cancer in the remaining episodes of Season 1. The scoop was revealed by creator/showrunner Dan Fogelman during his recent interview with TV Guide.
"The back half of the season is very much focused on William's fight with cancer," the showrunner said.
"Different answers are searched for, and different possible outcomes are on the table. In terms of Randall's storyline and William's storyline, our focus really turns to that."
Previewing the show's next episode titled "I Call Marriage," Fogelman revealed that this hour will shed light on Rebecca and Jack's failed marriage. In the present timeline, viewers will find Toby throwing a wrench in Kate's weight loss journey, while Randall will struggle to accept William's deteriorating health.
The episode will air on Tuesday, Feb. 7 on NBC.
