Young actress Millie Bobby Brown has landed her first major film role. "The Stranger Things" breakout has been cast on "Godzilla: King of Monsters," the sequel to 2014's monster movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Brown's character description are still being kept under wraps. The movie will mark as Brown's first official film credit after her excellent portrayal of Eleven on Netflix's well-received scifi series, "Stranger Things."

Directed by Michael Dougherty (Krampus), "Godzilla: King of Monsters" is part of the Monsterverse trilogy from Legendary Pictures. The franchise also includes this year's upcoming "Kong: Skull Island" and the highly-awaited "Kong vs. Godzilla" movie set for a 2020 release.

Plot details of "Godzilla: King of Monsters" have not been made available at this point. However, Legendary's sequel announcement from Comic-Con has teased that it will feature "more monsters to play with." This stirred up a speculation that the sequel is likely to introduce rivals of Godzilla such as Mothra, Ghidora and Rodan.

Recently, a TV spot released for "Kong: Skull Island" has hinted a connection to Godzilla's history in the early 50s. As previously reported, the latest promotional ad titled "Reign" sees John Goodman's character talking about the number of ships and planes that have disappeared at Skull Island. He continued stating that nuclear missions conducted in 1954 were launched to kill something.

How it relates to Godzilla is quite indirect, but the fact is that the bomb is actually intended for the monster creature and not Kong as casual viewers would likely assume. With the release of "Kong: Skull Island" happening in a few weeks, it is expected that more Easter Eggs will be dropped in parts of the movie to build up more excitement for the upcoming Kong vs. Godzilla face-off.

"Godzilla: King of Monsters" will arrive in theaters on March 22, 2019.
