"Goblin" star Kim Go Eun recently updated her Instagram account with a selca; however, many netizens were not happy about the photo. In fact, many of them are criticizing the actress for her looks.
Unlike other celebrities, Kim Go Eun rarely updates her Instagram account. In fact, she just created the profile last January to thank the supporters of "Goblin." On Sunday, the actress shared a photo of herself without makeup on.
According to Allkpop, the Instagram post was flooded with hate comments from the netizens, forcing the actress to delete the update. Reports stated some of the commenters even called Kim Go Eun "ugly," "toad," "too plain" and other offensive names.
Amid backlash, fans of the "Goblin" actress came to rescue her from the bashers. Most of them praised Kim Go Eun for showing her natural look, while others slammed the bashers for their insults.
"[It's] sad how people are okay with destroying someone else's self-esteem because they want to give their opinion on what beautiful is. Beauty is subjective and your definition of beauty is skewed if you think it is defined by a layer of makeup and photoshop," a fan wrote.
Another one posted, "She's refreshingly gorgeous. One of the most natural faces I've come across. And when she smiles, everything just lights up."
After drawing flak for her bare-faced selca, Kim Go Eun has yet to update her Instagram account since last week. Drama Fever reported the actress only created the profile as a gift to "Goblin" fans.
Following the success of the tvN drama, the actress took to her Instagram account to share a photo of herself with co-actor Gong Yoo during the filming of their wedding day in "Goblin."
The 25-year-old actress wrote, "I was happy and thankful #Goblin." Kim Go Eun also uploaded a behind-the-scene of the drama and a group selca with Yoo In Na and Lee El.
