Kim Jong Kook, best known for being a cast member of SBS' variety program "Running Man," made a heartwarming gesture towards an unfortunate BTS fan that proves that he has a heart of gold.
The actor/singer helped build a new modern home for a 15-year-old girl named Min Young and her grandmother during an appearance on a JTBC reality show. The program, titled "This Is My Home," is a remodeling show that follows a similar format as "Extreme Makeover Home Edition."
During the episode, which aired on Feb. 10, Friday, Kim teamed up with MC Lee Kyung Kyu, actress/singer Chae Jung Ahn and construction expert Mr. Yang for the project. Their mission was to fix a mice-infested, dilapidated makeshift house, which was formerly a warehouse, into a beautiful home for the teenage girl and her grandmother.
"I don't feel like a stranger to Min Young's family. I just want to present a comfortable home for them," All Kpop quoted Kim as saying. Kim put in a lot of energy and hard work to ensure that the once rundown structure is transformed into a safe and sanitary environment for Min Young, a die-hard BTS fan.
Kim's efforts paid off as the revamped house brought a smile on the faces of Min Young and her family members. Overwhelmed by emotions, her grandmother broke down in tears as she thanked everyone for their beautiful new home.
Kim is currently in Taiwan with his fellow "Running Man" cast members HaHa, Song Ji Hyo, Lee Kwang Soo, and Ji Suk Jin for their Asian fan meeting tour, which kicked off on Feb. 10, Friday, according to the same publication. The "Running Man" cast members are scheduled to travel to Macau, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong for their Asian fan meeting tour.
