Phoenix Suns sat Eric Bledsoe for the game against Sacramento Kings, despite he is fully healthy. The management made the decision to prevent him from getting injury near the end of the season.
The management of Phoenix Suns decided to keep him sidelined in the 101-107 loss to Sacramento Kings on Wednesday, March 15. The point guard was fully prepared to play, but he did not enter the court, as reported by Arizona Sports.
Bledsoe is healthy and prepared for the game, but according to head coach Earl Watson in the post-game interview , the decision to keep him off the rotation belongs to the management. When he was asked whether it would only be for one game, coach Watson didn't provide a clear answer.
"Bled’s been great, he’s had a great season. He played at a high level," Coach Watson said praising his point guard. However, he later replied with a vague message. " “There’s still a lot of room for him to grow. He knows that."
With him out of the lineup, Phoenix Suns played rookie point guard Tyler Ulis as the started, with Ronnie Price played off-the-bench. Ulis showed his capability as a good ball distributor, delivering 13 assists and contributing 13 points in 38 minutes.
Phoenix Suns is currently 22-46, the second-worst record in the Western Conference. With 12 more games left in the regular season, the Suns would not want to risk an injury to its point guard. Bledsoe suffered a hyperextended knee injury in the beginning of this month, as reported by CBS Sports. and Phoenix Suns did not want to take risk of further injury by putting him on court.
Furthermore, the 27-year-old point guard missed most of the game due to the knee injury last season. Phoenix Suns doesn't want to take chance to lose him.
