The world of anime and manga this year is seeing some significant ending of popular titles. But some authors of these anime titles are coming back with some brand new content that could offer something unique to readers for years.
Tadatoshi Fujimaki Returns with 'Robot x Laserbeam'
Fans of Tadatoshi Fujimaki are in for some great news: the author of the popular basketball anime and manga "Kuroko no Basket" is back with another sports themed literature. This time, the manga is going to focus on golf - and even though it sounds bland at first, it does offer some comedy and entertainment while explaining the sport itself. According to My Anime List, the manga debuted this March and it could have a weekly release.
The story of the latest manga is basically your typical manga series with a few twist on the main character. "Robot x Laserbeam" is about a high school student with a nickname "Robo" because of his poker face that actually matches his bland demeanor. His classmate introduces him to the world of golf and even though he's not into it at first (he's not really into anything), he finds out that he has a natural 'talent for golf.
Slow Start - with a Good Reason
After two chapters, the manga is in a slow start but for a good reason. Like "Kuroko no Basket" the manga also takes time to explain some nuances about the sport and explanation about the game is more needed about golf. Reddit comments on the manga also notes about the poker face character which will take some time to develop
But the manga show some promise as the humor behind the natural talent of Robo is slowly unfolding. Because of his demeanor, he could be the next Saitama - but only in the golf course.
