The "Black Panther" movie is arguably one of the most anticipated superhero films, especially after the character made its onscreen debut in the 2016 monster hit "Captain America: Civil War." Here's every major update you need to know about the solo "Black Panther" movie.
The Wakanda culture
The "Black Panther" movie is rooted deeply in Wankada's culture. Instead of showing the superhero in action in New York or other big metropolitan areas, fans will see T'Challa and how he interacts with the rest of his kingdom.
Post-"Civil War"
Chadwick Boseman's solo outing as Black Panther will pick up after the events in the third "Captain America" movie. His father has just died, so he will spend a lot of time mourning. Moreover, he's also adjusting to his duties as the new king of Wakanda. Instead of immediately seeing him delve into superhero business, Black Panther's origin story will show how he, as T'Challa, learns to rule and lead.
Klaue returns
Andy Serkeis will reprise his role as Ulysses Klaue, a known mercenary and one of the largest exploiters of Wakanda's unique resource-Vibranium. According to Screen Rant, Serkeis was spotted filming in Atlanta with Michael B. Jordan, who will play the villain Erik Killmonger. This somehow confirms Lupita Nyong'o's statement that the "Black Panther" plot will involve two villains working together.
Flashbacks
As it is an origin story for Black Panther, the movie will also present flashbacks to 1990, when T'Challa was a student at Saint Mary's College High School in Berkley. The scene is expected to really bring back the look and feel of that period, as according to ComicBook.com the production team asked for permission to use the 90's AC Transit bus logo for the movie.
All-star cast
The "Black Panther" cast is filled with top actors and actresses including Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Sterling K. Brown, Danai Gurira, Letitia Wright and Daniel Kaluuya.
Release Date
"Black Panther" movie will hit theaters on Feb. 16, 2018.
