After giving up his American permanent residency back in 2010, Taecyeon is now all set to serve his military duties as a full-fledged Korean citizen.
In a recent interview for his film "House of the Disappeared," the 2PM idol admitted he has completed all the requirements needed for his impending enlistment this year. Hence, Taecyeon is just waiting for the confirmation to enter the military.
"I already finished all preparations to enlist in the Army early this year, holding a concert at last year's end and releasing a solo album in Japan, but nothing has been fixed yet," the 2PM member said as per Korea Herald.
He continued, "I live a pleasant and meaningful life every day, expecting that I will able to go to the Army within this year, anyway."
The 28-year-old idol was originally from Busan, South Korea before his family moved to Massachusetts when he was 10 years old. Taecyeon completed his secondary school in the United States before he returned to Korea at the age of 17.
Reports stated it was his sister who forced him to join a JYP Entertainment audition, wherein he fortunately made it with 2PM co-members Junho and Chansung for a show called "Superstar Survival."
Taecyeon formally debuted as an idol in 2008. He and the six other members of 2PM released their first single "10 Points out of 10 Points" under their first mini-album "Hottest Time of the Day."
Earlier this year, the "Hey Ghost, Let's Fight" actor launched his first ever solo album in Japan, titled "Taecyeon Special: Winter Hitori" which consists of 10 tracks. Not only that, the 2PM member also staged his first solo concert in the country.
The idol said these are all part of his preparations before he goes on a hiatus to serve the military. Koreaboo cited Taecyeon is eyeing to enlist this summer; hence, the idol said he would like to have fun before he starts his duties.
But more than enjoying his remaining civilian days, the 2PM member is preparing his body for the imminent service.
