Korean singer and rapper G-Dragon is allegedly the producer of YG Entertainment's new girl group, according to Yibada.
Since the all-girl group debuted, the BIGBANG leader has reportedly been composing songs for the group. He has also written songs for other YG artist such as iKON.
Just like Teddy, a former YG talent, and member of 1TYM, G-Dragon is likely to delve into songwriting and producing. Furthermore, the singer has already collaborated with some members of the group such as Jennie Kim and Park Chaeyoung.
YG Entertainment's new girl group is composed of four members, and so far, only three have been revealed, namely, Jennie Kim, Lalisa Manoban, and Kim Jisoo.
Resembling its sunbae group 2NE1, YG's Jennie Kim possesses the characteristics and leadership of CL; Lisa has Minzy's dancing skills, and Jisoo has charisma like YG's Dara.
While the last group member has not been revealed yet, rumors suggest that Park Chaeyoung or Roseanne Park will take the last spot. Park will potentially be the group's main vocal.
The 19-year-old singer snatched the top prize in a YG audition in Australia in 2012, and since then, she has relocated to South Korea for her training under the label.
YG Entertainment's sudden decision to form a new group comes after 2NE1's contract has expired, and Minzy reportedly decided not to renew with the agency. Minzy is now under Music Works and is planning to launch a solo career. While 2NE1 is on hiatus, its lead singer CL is making a name for herself in the United States as her song Hello B*tches has been featured in an ad of one the US' biggest network providers, T-Mobile.
