Descendants of the Sun heartthrob Song Joong-ki will reportedly begin shooting for his upcoming film Battleship Island after he concludes the China leg of his Asian tour on Saturday, June 25, in Taiwan.

The production crew officially announced on Tuesday that they would start taking photos of the scenes at Busan, South Korea, on Wednesday and Thursday. Photoshoots will also be staged at Busan, Cheongju, and other locations.

Furthermore, the shooting location will be transferred to Chunchon from mid-July until early November. Given such a hectic schedule, this might mean that fans will not see Song Joong-ki until he finishes his shooting.

Meanwhile, to ensure that all details of the movie are plugged, scripts will reportedly be handed out on the day of the filming. Furthermore, shooting schedules will be presented on a monthly basis. In fact, the cast allegedly met at a secret location in Seoul to discuss the film and read through the script.

The director of the movie Ryuu Seungwan revealed that the production crew will integrate Hollywood-style when shooting. He also hinted that real-life stories of people from the Battleship Island will also be featured.

On the other hand, despite dealing with a full schedule, Song is reportedly exercising and following a diet plan for his upcoming role as Park Mu Young in the movie. He has explained that "the film is taken from a true story that inserts background of Korean history, I had to look thin to customize my character more than 10 years ago."
