"Suicide Squad" will be hitting the big screen on Aug. 5. Jared Leto's highly anticipated rendition of The Joker has been intriguing fans as news circulates that he has been scaring off his co-stars and the entire production team. Apparently, Leto has done some crazy things to prepare for his role.
According to the actor, he just had to send his co-stars disturbing gifts just because he was The Joker. What was even more troubling was that he opted to hire a henchman to send the gifts for him.
During his introduction, a henchman came in and plopped a dead pig on to the table. Shortly after, Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, received a love letter with a live rat while Viola Davis, who plays Amanda Waller, and Will Smith, who plays as Deadshot, received bullets. What was more disturbing is that, the actor sending anal beads to the entire squad, not to mention sending Akinnuoye-Agbaje or Killer Croc sticky playboy magazines.
Leto took his role further by immersing himself to an asylum just so he can spend time with the patients. According to Comic Book, Leto talked to patients who have committed horrendous crimes just so he could understand how The Joker's mind works. He also sought professional advice with psychiatrists. He also took it to heart that The Joker spent most his life behind bars so he spent the night in prison just to know how it feels.
Perhaps Leto crossed the line of bizarre to awkward when he sent his co-stars used condoms. When news broke into the media, many were outraged because they felt it was below the belt. But those who knew Leto understood his intention. Robbie even commended that what he was doing made his character even more intriguing.
