MTV has officially cancelled "Teen Wolf." The upcoming "Teen Wolf" Season 6 starring Tyler Posey will mark as the show's final season.
The cancellation of the hit werewolf drama has been announced by the cast and showrunners at Comic Con last week, Entertainment Weekly reported. In light of the sad news, Showrunner Jeff Davis has released a statement for the longtime fans of "Teen Wolf" during the panel.
"I know we're sad about it and it's bittersweet but we're so happy to be able to come to Comic-Con and share it with you guys," Davis said.
"Teen Wolf" lead star Tyler Posey also echoed his feelings about the final run of the series telling fans that they should not take the cancellation as a bad thing, because he is just filled with happiness.
"There's nothing negative about all this, I'm really happy, Posey told the fans."
"I'm going to cry my eyes out [at the end]. And it's going to be an ugly-cry too."
"Teen Wolf" Season 6 will delve on how Scott and co. will protect Beacon Hills from the new threat that's upon them. The new Big Bad, called the Ghost Riders, is tied to Season 5's Wild Hunt mythology and their introduction to the series will certainly up the game of the characters in the final episodes.
"The Wild Hunt myth is that is passes through your town," Davis said during the panel.
"If you're unfortunate enough to glance up at them, they take you with them."
Familiar faces are also set to return on "Teen Wolf" Season 6, which includes Dylan O'Brien, Cody Christian and Ian Bohen, TV Line has learned.
"Teen Wolf" Season 6 premieres this fall on MTV.
