La Liga giants Real Madrid seems to be not giving up on their interest on Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba as the Bernabéu giants are rumored to be currently preparing to "gazump" the world-record £100 million offer of Manchester United for the France international.

Real head coach Zinedine Zidane is allegedly ready to give a raised bid for Pogba as Los Blancos wants to launch a late proposal to rival United for the services of the 23-year-old Frenchman, the Daily Express reported.

Earlier reports this summer said that Pogba is actually keen on joining the Spanish capital city squad and show his wares in La Liga rather than moving back to the Premier League in England.

The reason was deep for the Frenchman as not only is Zidane one of his idols in the sport, but there also had been a foul history between Pogba and the Red Devils when he joined Juventus in a free transfer back in 2012 without the blessing of then United head coach Sir Alex Ferguson.

However, with Portuguese mentor Jose Mourinho now in charge at the Old Trafford, Pogba is said to be considering a move back to his former club, but not without a fight from one of the richest football clubs in the world right now.

"I don't know if he will come. Until August 31 (when the transfer window closes) anything can happen," Zidane was reported as saying earlier this summer, as per Caught Offside. "Everyone is interested in Pogba. He is a great footballer and when you are Madrid you always want the best players."

"But now he is not a Real Madrid player, he is a Juventus player so I can't say anything more," Zidane added.

Meanwhile, Mourinho had been vocal that Pogba is one of his four main targets this summer. The Special One had already achieved his goal of signing his first three targets - Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimović, and Henrikh Mkhitaryan - and only Pogba's signing has remained unfulfilled.

Mourinho even vetoed a deal that would have sent Miralem Pjanic from Roma to the Old Trafford last month. Pjanic is now with Juve, which increased the probability of the Old Lady letting go of Pogba.
