Everton's flop striker Oumar Niasse is rumored to be on his way to Turkish Süper Lig side Galatasaray SK for a one-year loan spell after he is deemed a surplus to new head coach Ronald Koeman squad at the Merseyside next season.
The 26-year-old Senegal international was signed by Everton under ex-manager Roberto Martinez during last season's winter transfer window from Russian Premier League team FC Lokomotiv Moscow for a fee of £13.5 million.
Niasse was considered a flop signing, though, as he did not make any significant impact at the Goodison Park during his half-season stay there, playing a goalless five games with the Toffees even though he was the club's third most expensive signing on record.
Koeman had just arrived from Southampton in the middle of last month and he had immediately told the 6-foot Ouakam, Senegal native that he is a "surplus to requirements" and that he will be loaned out to any interested teams soonest, as per 90min.
The team that emerged interested turned out to be the Lions, who was recently given a two-year suspension by UEFA from European club competitions after breaking financial fair play rules.
Galatasaray agreed to pay £1.5 million for Niasse's one-year loan, but the club's offer of £5 million to make the loan deal permanent next season is said to be too low for the Toffees to accept given that they spent almost triple of their bid on the Senegalese striker last February.
Meanwhile, Turkish Football indicated that Senegal FA president Augustin Senghor accidentally disclosed that a deal is close to happening between the Toffees and the Yellow-Reds during an interview with reporters where he talked about Niasse's "charitable efforts and contributions to the football federation".
Senghor was giving praise to the former Akhisar Belediyespor forward's kind heart towards the country's football association when he slipped that he "hopes the Everton striker is successful in Turkey next season", which generated more rumors about the player's speculated exit out of Goodison Park.
Niasse was not included in Koeman's lineup during the team's 3-0 friendly win over Barnsley last Saturday, which is another indication that the deal is pushing through before the new Premier League season begins next month.
