Followers of Namgoong Min will see a different side of the Korean actor as he takes on the role of a single father for his cameo appearance in SBS drama series "Doctors." Contrary to his past roles where he played as an antagonist or a romantic lead, Namgoong's role in "Doctors" is expected to make the viewers cry.
A staff affiliated to the SBS drama recently made the announcement about Namgoong's cameo appearance in "Doctors." "In episode 13, which airs on August 1, Namgoong Min appears as a father raising two sons on his own. He portrays a young father seeking out a neurosurgeon out of concern for a son who is feeling unwell," the staff said, as quoted by Soompi.
According to Namgoong's agency, the Korean actor is making this appearance to support producing director Oh Choong Hwan, whom they have worked with in "The Girl Who Sees Smells," Drama Fever reported.
"Producing director Oh Choong Hwan personally came to the set of "Beautiful Gong Shim" to request Namgoong Min to make the special appearance. Despite his role in "Doctor" being that of a father with two children, Namgoong Min willingly decided to do the cameo out of loyalty to producing director Oh Choong Hwan," 935 Entertainment revealed.
Although his participation in "Doctors" will be short, the agency guaranteed Namgoong's role will "be deeply touching and a tear jerker."
Meanwhile, the Korean actor seemed to be enjoying his stay on the set with some of the cast members of the drama series as he posted a photo of him with "Doctors" star Park Shin Hye and captioned, "I went to the neurosurgeon because I was sick, but the doctor was pretty so I snapped a photo."
Catch "Doctors" every Mondays and Tuesdays on SBS.
