The Korean drama "Doctors" from Seoul Broadcasting System (SBS) TV reaches to the top in the weekly rankings of the Contents Power Index (CPI), which is an integrated index based on rankings from direct search, social media, and Internet news subscription that CJ E&M and Nielsen Korea co-developed in 2012.
According to Soompi, "Doctors" took the first place with a record of 264.70 total points on the second week of July 11-17. In fact, the South Korean drama topped the viewership rankings in its first episode aired on June 20, garnering 12.9 percent in ratings nationwide, and topped the rankings for two days in a row. These results make the television series as the highest rated drama in the weekly CPI so far of all the dramas aired every Mondays and Tuesdays.
Besides "Doctors," from July 18 to 24, pre-filmed romantic drama "Uncontrollably Fond" from KBS2 TV that is aired simultaneously every Wednesdays and Thursdays in China and South Korea was pushed down to second place, as Asia Times reported. It is trying their best through several promotional means to achieve success just like the previously high-rated record breaker "Descendants of the Sun." It actually gained a total of 289.10 points during their first airing week on July 4-10 in CPI. At that time, "Doctors" earned only 267.50 points.
On the other hand, in the CPI rankings, the rap competition TV show "Show Me the Money" from Mnet took the third place and is currently in its fifth season. The horror and supernatural drama "Bring It On, Ghost" from tvN that is aired every Mondays and Tuesdays got the fourth place, while the Korean reality-variety TV comedy series "Infinite Challenge" from MBC fell into the fifth place.
