"Pokemon Go" players who experienced in-game trackers and third-party services shutdown are currently asking for refund. These people are reportedly experiencing game functionality changes after the most recent update has been released.
A number of "Pokemon Go" players are requesting for refund since the game's functionality has significantly changed in a way that the original purposes for their in-app purchases are no longer served. Some players who complained said that they bought "Pokemon Go" currency to purchase items for tracking and capturing Pokemons.
"Pokemon Go" players can still request for refund via the Apple App and Google Play stores, a Reddit post said. Many Apple users have shared that they were able to receive immediate refund while Google Play users were required to ask Google Support to contact them for refunds. In addition, Google Play's automated policy only allows refund on purchases made in the last 48 hours.
The "Pokemon Go" tracker usually works by showing a nearby Pokemon creature on the display. However, the "Pokemon Go" glitch caused the tracker to present all Pokemons that are located the farthest area from the player,. The generated tracking report, in turn, made tracking Pokemon creatures extremely difficult, Kotaku reported.
In the recent game update, the "Pokemon Go" tracking option was taken out completely and was replaced with a list of nearby Pokemon creatures without distances indicated. Along with this change, the ability to choose amongst the presented Pokemon and track it were also removed.
Niantic Games has reportedly shut down these popular "Pokemon Go" tracking apps due to certain reasons, which most likely include violations of the game's terms of service. Some tracking apps reportedly allow several players to track Pokemons via the game's API data, which is supposedly not allowed.
Niantic Games has not given any comments on the shutdown of "Pokemon Go" tracking apps and in-app purchase refunds.
