Despite China’s rumored plan to ban South Korean stars on appearing in Chinese shows, South Korean actor Ji Chang Wook’s Chinese drama series “Whirlwind Girl 2” is not affected, as it will continue to be aired on Chinese televisions.
This statement was disclosed by the actor’s talent agency Glorious Entertainment, in contradiction to the hearsays that the drama series will be suspended due to the actor’s participation, All KPop reported. The agency added that the production of “Whirlwind Girl 2” is smoothly going on.
“Ji Chang Wook’s drama ‘Whirlwind 2’ is continuing to air in China. The rumors that its broadcast has been halted are groundless,” Soompi quoted Glorious Entertainment as saying.
“Whirlwind Girl 2” unfolds the story of the martial artist named Qi Bai Cao portrayed by Chinese star An Yue Xi who met a talented man named Chang An, which is played by Ji. The latter’s character later took over as her trainer after the tragic loss of her mentor. The show premiered on Hunan TV on July 20.

In 2015, the 29-year-old actor won the “Most Popular Actor” in the overseas category from the TV Drama Awards Made in China by Anhui Television. “Whirlwind Girl 2” is the actor’s first major show in China.
