Stargirl is headed to "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. The CW team has tapped "Power Rangers" actress Sarah Grey to play the DC comics character in the second outing of the series.
According to IGN, Stargirl will join Hourman (Patrick J. Adams) on "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2. The casting comes after the show's retooling in the new season, which includes the introduction of the Justice Society of America storyline; however, there's still no word on who will play Dr. Mid-Nite and Obsidian - the fellow JSA members who will round-up the team in Season 2.
In the DC comics lore, Stargirl was first known as Courtney Whitmore - a teenager from Blue Valley who becomes a superhero. After receiving Jack Knight's Cosmic Staff, Courtney used the name Stargirl to pay honor to the Starman legacy. Some of her superpowers include enhanced agility and strength which came from the Cosmic Converter Belt that she wears as part of her costume.
Grey joins previously cast Matthew MacCaull (iZombie) who has been tapped to play Henry Heywood Sr. aka Commander Steel, Entertainment Weekly reported. Other guest stars appearing on "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 include Maisie Richardson as the New Vixen and Nick Zano as Dr. Nate Haywood.
Meanwhile, it was also revealed during Comic Con that "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 will introduce a new set of villains called the Legion of Doom. The Legion will feature familiar faces from "The Flash" and "Arrow" universe, including Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman), Damien Darhk (Neal Mconough), the Reverse-Flash (Matt Letscher) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller).
"Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2 premieres on Thursday, Oct. 13 at 8PM on the CW.
