The long-awaited "Final Fantasy XV" will be released in November, but apart from the main game, fans are looking forward to the downloadable content that will be made available. Apparently, more "FFXV" DLCs are likely to be released apart from the six that are going to included in the Season Pass.
In an interview with Famitsu, game director Hajime Tabata said that the six DLCs that are part of the game's Season Pass are temporarily being held off, but they have already planned them out. He said they are rearranging the schedule due to the game's delay, which was announced by Square Enix and reported by Gematsu on Aug. 15. While Tabata did not want to disclose anything more, he did say that there is likely to be more than six DLCs.
"That won't be all," Tabata said of the half a dozen planned downloadable content, as quoted by Siliconera. "The ones that we've announced are the ones were decided that we'll certainly do."
Tabata also said that many things are still uncertain at this point, but should they decide to release more DLCs, then those are likely to be purchases separate from the Season Pass. He also said that they have plans to release costumes DLCs as well as ones for cooking needs.
However, their priority right now is the main game. Should they have the opportunity, then they will start focusing on the DLCs. He also said that they will be working on VR content, which will be different from the Season Pass and the episodic downloadable content.
In terms of the main game, Tabata said, in another Siliconera report, that only half of the game is open-world while the second half takes a linear path. He estimates gameplay to be 40 to 50 hours if the player goes through the first half plus the main route of the second.
The development of "Final Fantasy XV" began in 2006 and was supposed to be released on Sept. 30. Should there be no more delay, the game will be rolled on Nov. 29 for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
