"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 will recast Emmy nominee Laverne Cox despite the actress' hectic work schedule. Cox stars Fox Network's "Rocky Horror Picture Show" and is also a current series regular of the upcoming CBS drama "Doubt."
Cox will be reprising her character Sophia Burset in "Orange is the New Black" Season 5. She said that they are still trying to figure out how she could go to New York to shoot for the show despite her busy schedule, E News reported. However, she is genuinely delighted that she will be returning to "Orange is the New Black" Season 5.
Cox expressed how blessed and grateful she is because she really intended to continue writing for her character Sophia. Sophia was not a prominent character last season as she was in a solitary confinement for the most part of it. Hopefully, "Orange is the New Black" Season 5 will showcase more about her character.
Meanwhile, reports claim that "Orange is the New Black" Season 5 could potentially showcase many deaths. To recall, fans feared that their favorite character may die in the last season when a riot ensued in Litchfield. This eventually led to the unfortunate death of Poussey (Samira Wiley), one of the show's most beloved character.
Speculations arise that if the riot continues in "Orange is the New Black" Season 5, more characters may die. Reports also suggest that if there would be more deaths, then there could be more additions to the cast, Snopes reported. Past guest stars reportedly may also reappear in "Orange is the New Black" Season 5.
"Orange is the New Black" Season 5 producers and Netflix have not announced the release date of the show yet. Rumor has it that the next season might premiere on June 9, 16 or 23 of 2017 because Netflix usually sets launch dates on Fridays. Watch the "Orange is the New Black" Season 4 video for the meantime.
