Fans of "The Last of Us" still wait for Naughty Dog to release its sequel. However the video game developer is currently occupied to launch "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."
"The Last of Us" is a post-apocalyptic-themed game and considered as one of the most successful video games ever released by Naughty Dog. Up to now, fans are still waiting for the sequel of the game, but Naughty Dog cureently has its focus is on other franchise. Creative director, Neil Druckmann, as reported by Games Radar, said that they have to focus on "Uncharted 4: A Thief's End."
"Before my partner, Bruce [Straley] and I, my directing partner, came on to Uncharted 4 we were working on prototypes for different ideas within The Last Of Us universe," said Druckmann.
He further explained,. "Our next focus is the single player [Uncharted 4] DLC and then, once we have enough resources, resurrect all those prototypes; see where we're at, see where the teams at, what they're excited for and go from there."
Both "Uncharted" and "The Last of Us" are the award-winning games from the Santa Monica-based video game developer. The first series of "Uncharted" was released in 2007 for Playstation 3, while "The Last of Us" was released in 2013 for similar console.
"Uncharted" is an action-adventure third-person game series. The game follows the adventure of treasure hunter Nathan Drake to unravel mysteries of historical places around the world. Currently, the game has seven installments for Playstation and one mobile game for Android and iOS.
While "The Last of Us" is also an action-adventure third-person game that follows the journey of Joel and Ellie in a post-apocalyptic United States. High popularity of the game has made voice actress for character Ellie, Ashley Johnson wanted to reprise her role as she told Gamespot.
"I feel like if they were to pursue it again, if they were to have another story for Ellie or Joel or that whole world, I would totally jump on board,"
"Uncharted 4: A Thief's End" is scheduled to release on May 10, 2016 for PlayStation 4. While for "The Last of Us 2," Naughty Dog has not made official announcement regarding its development and release.
