20-year-old actor Tom Holland shared a set photo of himself as Spider-Man in a dark alleyway. He went to thank "Spider-Man: Homecoming" stunt coordinator George J. Cottle in the caption.

Holland is currently busy filming the upcoming "Spider-Man" reboot under Marvel and Sony's joint initiative. The character made its debut in "Captain America: Civil War" and has since got thumbs up for the way he portrayed teenage hero, Peter Parker.

Holland's background in dance and gymnastics helped him get the coveted role, Screen Rant reported. Apparently during the audition, a script given to Spidey hopefuls says that "Spider-Man flips in and lands." Holland caught the attention of "Civil War" director Joe Russo who went to give him the go-signal to do it. Holland went for it and the rest is now history.

In an interview, Joe said that while there are hired stunt doubles for dangerous action shots, Holland's athleticism is still vital to the role.

"As important as it is to capture the essence of the character on an emotional level, there's an incredible physicality to these characters. If he can do that, that's a whole other asset that he's bringing, a whole other dimension that he's bringing to the part," he told Entertainment Weekly.

Holland has kept the fans updated with his "Spider-Man: Homecoming" set photos and acrobatic video posts in social media. So far, there have been a few details about the movie were leaked online but none have been officially confirmed by Marvel save for Zendaya's role as Mary Jane Watson.

"Spider-Man: Homecoming" opens on July 7, 2017.
