‘Legends of Tomorrow’ season 2 introduces Sarah Grey as Stargirl; JSA and Legion of Doom join in the fray

(Photo : YouTube/DC Comics) Stargirl will be joining the Justice Society of America in “Legends of Tomorrow” Season 2.

"Legends of Tomorrow" is set for its second season and a list of new characters have made their way to join in the fray. It was also confirmed that heroes like Stargirl will be joining the Justice Society of America.

According to IGN, a new preview for the upcoming season was released showcasing the impending  new conflict and conflict among the heroes and villains of the show. Television network The CW also announced that actress Sarah Grey will don the outfit of Stargirl.

Basing her character on the comics, Courtney Whitmore was a teenager who donned the original gear of the hero Star-Spangled Kid, which included the Cosmic Converter Belt, and wielded the cosmic staff of Starman. The Cosmic Converter Belt enhanced the agility and strength of the user among a few abilities, while the cosmic staff absorbed stellar energy to be used for a variety of abilities to combat enemies.

Joining the heroine will be Hourman (played by Patrick J. Adams, as featured in the season 1 finale of "Legends of Tomorrow"), Obsidian (played by Lance Henriksen) and Dr. Mid-Nite, who is yet to be cast. It was also confirmed that also joining the Justice Society of America is Commander Steel (played by Matthew MacCaull) and the new Vixen (played by Amaya Jiwe).

In other news, executive producer Marc Guggenheim mentioned to Collider that the series will be exploring conflict that involves multiple threats, characters having their own issues going on, and introducing two superpower groups Justice Society of America and the Legion of Doom.

Guggenheim also stated that there were challenges for the show as things were left open from the previous season finale. The producer mentioned that they are figuring out on approching the team's mission statement and why the show itself is there for a reason.

The CW will be premiering the second season of "Legends of Tomorrow" on Oct. 13.
