Since Lionsgate and Saban Entertainment announced of a new "Power Rangers", fans could not contain their excitement and expectations about the movie. The upcoming film is finally set to release in cinemas on March 24, 2017. The action-packed film is reported to be in line with "King Arthur: Legend of the Sword" launching on the same week.
Although the film has not yet earned its rating from MPAA, definitely it will not be R-rated unlike the "Power Ranger" movie of last year. Next year's movie will have a lot more profoundness, particularly when it comes to personality development. It is believed that the film will have a PG-13 rating since its director Dean Israelite is well-known for his "Project Almanac" which has a PG-13 rating.
To date, this is going to be the third movie for "Power Rangers" to hit the big screen. The film is not in anyway connected to the first two movies, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie (1995) and Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie (1997) and is a reboot. This is also the first time that Zach and Trini will be featured, according to IMDb.
Even if the new movie will not cast the original characters anymore, one of the original characters from the "Mighty Morphins", Jason David Frank will have a cameo appearance and will contribute probably some fight scenes or stunts.
New casts include Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart (Pink Ranger), Becky G. as Trini (Yellow Ranger), RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston (Blue Ranger), Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor (Black Ranger), and Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott (Red Ranger). Bryan Cranston will play as Zordon, the creator of the Power Rangers.
The movie is a story of five ordinary high school kids that will become extraordinary when they find out that their little town of Angel Grove, including the world, is under the threat of being annihilated by aliens. It is the heroes' fate to save the planet and should know their different abilities as soon as possible to defend Earth.
As for the antagonists, Lionsgate is introducing a new villain in the personality of Elizabeth Banks who will play the role of Rita Repulsa, DIY Magazine reported. It was rumored that Yellow Ranger's life is in her hands arousing speculations that the yellow hero will die in the movie. Is that so? Other characters include Sarah Grey as Amanda and David Denman as Sam Scott.
Haim Saban and Shuki Levy are the official writers of the movie with the help of Ashley Miller, Burk Sharpless, John Gatins, Matt Sazama, and Zack Stentz. The movie is set to release in the UK in 2017.
