Rockstar Games has always been centering their gameplay on open world type of games. With titles such as "Grand Theft Auto" and "Red Dead Redemption," fans are hoping for a sequel, especially for the action, open world cowboy-themed adventure. Will there be any news on a "Red Dead Redemption 2?" Or is the franchise over?

PC Advisor mentioned some speculations on the game's development based on some of the leaks that surfaced earlier this year. Based on the said leaks, a "Red Dead Redemption" sequel is supposed in the making, with its new title and the return of cowboy desperado protagonist John Marston. Even earlier in this year, there was also a leak of the alleged map of the game online, which showed on how potentially large the game could be.

The title was rumored to be "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West" and announcements on the possible sequel was supposed to surface on 2016's Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The event, however, had a lot of "awkward" moments during Rockstar's segment, giving off an appearance of a sudden last minute change of plans. It was then revealed that the developers and Sony had to take down whatever presentation they had for the potential "Red Dead" sequel due to the recent Orlando shootings. The trailer was reported to have a scene similar to the incident of the shooting.

The game was rumored to supposedly show up during the Gamescom event or even more recent Sony PlayStation Meeting. However, it Rockstar still hasn't made any mention on the game's development at all. It's either that the development of the game is being kept under wraps or non-existent at all. One could really guess. Even hopes for a "Red Dead Redemption Remaster" has been quelled.

iDigital Times actually hopes that the game company will actually have something on the Western-themed open world game before the year ends. If there will be something, though, it would probably mean that any major Rockstar title will see itself appearing two years from now.

Fans will have to wait on any updates. Hopefully, when the time comes that "Red Dead Redemption 2" comes out, it'll be worth the wait.
