Bollywood star of "Krrish 3" Vivek Oberoi recently made headlines when he revisited a small village, which he adopted and promised to look after in Andhra Pradesh in India. The actor promised to set up a water purification plant and build roads.
On a surprise visit Oberoi stopped by the village known locally as Muthavakuntlapalli of Kanaganipalli mandal and was accompanied by Indian government minister Paritala Sunitha and members of Parliament.
The actor, according to the New Indian Express, held a community clean up initiative during his short stay.The Bollywood star had promised to look after the village in 2015, following the first death anniversary of former minister Paritala Ravindra who was shot by unknown individuals as he left his party office.
The village community that former cabinet Minister Ravindra belongs to is part of a constituency represented by Civil Affairs Minister Sunitha.Oberoi who addressed those in the village during his visit said Ravindra was a hero for those in the village who constantly fought for the betterment of the common people.
The actor promised to use his own funds to set a water purifying plant in the Tallimadugu village, which is in the same district. He spoke about setting up schools with e-education facilities along with building roads and facilities for proper drinking water for those in the village.
Meanwhile, the actor who is currently a judge for a talent show titled "India's Best Dramebaaz," told a new service, in a report obtained by Yahoo News that he is looking forward to trying his hand at producing films this year.
Oberoi who spoke to the news service said he is currently in the midst of setting up a production company, with three scripts already being considered.
When the "Grand Masti" star was quizzed as to if he will be starring in films that he hopes to produce, Oberoi remarked that it depended on the script, adding , "If the film needs me to be part of it then I will happily do that."
Further, the actor who commented on his role as judge of "India's Best Dramebaaz" was appreciative of the opportunity and thanked organizers for allowing him to be a part of the show for the second season as well.
According to media reports the Indian talent show encourages children between the age of five-13 to take part and through a series of challenges aims to groom future stars while testing their creativity, spontaneity and acting abilities.
