A romantic storyline is brewing between Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) and Valerie Vale (Jamie Chung) on "Gotham" Season 3. In other developments, there's also news that Selina's mother will arrive in Gotham city in the new installment.
Following Monday's premiere of "Gotham" Season 3, the instant chemistry between Jim and Valerie has been speculated to be a starting point of a romantic relationship for the duo. While Jim is still healing over his breakup from Lee (Morena Baccarin), the possibility of him finding love with the Gotham reporter is not being ruled out. In fact, executive producer Ken Woodruff was open to the two hitting it off romantically.
"There's a certain engine and chemistry there, a lot of sparks," the showrunner told The Hollywood Reporter.
"Vale is a much different character than Lee and a much different entity. The dynamic between her and Gordon is going to feel completely different from the dynamic between Lee and Gordon last season."
Meanwhile, familial ties will also be explored in "Gotham" Season 3. Series star Camren Bicondova recently revealed to TV Line that Selina's mother will be introduced in an upcoming episode. However, the actress teased a not so-happy reunion between the mother-and-daughter.
"Selina gets to meet a family member that's very dear to her heart - her mom," she told the publication.
"And that doesn't really go the way she expected it to."
"Gotham" also stars David Mazouz, Donal Logue, Sean Pertwee, Robin Lord Taylor and Cory Michael Smith. New episodes of Season 3 airs every Monday at 8PM on FOX.
