Apple users who are eager to get their hands-on with the iPad Air 3 might have to wait until next year.
Since it's already the fourth quarter of 2016, reports are saying that it's already unlikely that Apple will roll-out a new batch of products by this time. The news comes after the launch of the buzzy iPhone 7 and Airpods - which have received mixed reviews from critics and tech-savvy users. The absence of the iPad Air 3 from the recent WWDC event is also an indication that Apple has already set the mid-size tablet for a 2017 release.
"September 2016 is the earliest we'd expect the iPad Air 3 to appear, but right now March 2017 seems likelier," Macworld UK wrote in a report.
"We thought that the appearance of the iPad Air 3 could've been possible at WWDC 2016 which took place recently, as even though WWDC is a software-led conference, it has happened in the past."
Meanwhile, there's also word that Apple is planning to obliterate the Air line, and will focus on the Pro and mini brands instead. In June 2016, IB Times reported that multiple sellers from the US have cut-down the price of the iPad Air 2, offering consumers with a $250 discount. But this was only due to web rumors that the release of the iPad 3 is "imminent."
As of now, Apple has not yet announced any new updates about the iPad Air 3. With left and right speculations coming out, the tech giant is expected to address whether these rumors are true or not.
