The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is still plagued with battery problems that draining out very fast. Some users already complained about it, and Microsoft has acknowledged the problem but denied that its latest software patch is the cause of the issue.
In its official response to customer complaint, Microsoft admitted the battery problem; however, the company said that the latest patch that was released to fix the battery issue is not the cause of it, ZDNet reported.
Previously, Microsoft had issued firmware fix by the end of last month after complaint from many Surface Pro 3 users who suffered an extreme battery-drainage issues in models with Simplo batteries. But after the fix was released, users with LGC batteries reported similar problem with Simplo batteries. Some users began to assume the firmware fix had caused the new battery problems.
Microsoft denied the assumption and promised to investigate further. One of its representatives also said that Microsoft will soon give more information regarding the problem.
"We can confirm that the issue affecting these customers was not caused by the software updates issued on Aug. 29. Our team is actively looking in to the issue to determine the cause and identify a fix. We will post an update as soon as we have more information to share," A Microsoft representative by the name of Greg said in respond to the complaints.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is the third generation of mobile device from Microsoft that promised a better design and software than its previous Surface devices. Surface device is a 2-in-1 computer, a hybrid form of laptop and tablet computer. Its first generation was released in 2012 to challenge iPad and other tablet computers in a new battlefield.
But when first and second generation was released a year later, some limitations in their hardware and operating system resulting a poor sales. After integrating its Windows 10 OS to run in multiple devices, including its Surface device, Microsoft launched Surface Pro 3 in 2014.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was able to perform well in the market. After the success of Surface Pro 3, the Seattle-based company released Surface Pro 4 with a thinner screen bezel and larger screen in October last year.
